Let’s Put Tara’s Treats In The Spotlight
Can you tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Tara and I’m a married plus housebound blogger. Due to childhood cancer within my spine, its left me with a lot of issues now. However when I stopped working, I found I had a gap in living each day the same and needed to have an activity to fill this void.
I have always loved makeup and writing since I was young, so I decided why not write my own blog. I have good and bad days, yet on the good, I explore my creative side with makeup.
How would you describe your blog?
Tara’s Treats is an honest and open book to how I feel and can express myself. It focuses on beauty and lifestyle presently but this year I am expanding it to include my other passion which is Comic book’s, film and reading.
What inspired you to start your blog?
I wanted a place for my creativeness to be written and hopefully, help other’s. I cannot visit a store and swatch items so I realised I could write my opinion, show swatches and when I have a good day then show it applied.
What topics do you cover on your blog?
I cover Beauty which includes’s reviews of makeup, wishlists, information of upcoming release’s etc. A lifestyle which is where I review subscription box services and alternative item’s. Hobbies will be coming in 2016.
How do you want to improve yourself and your blog in the next year?
I want to add more creative content by writing about my passion for comic’s, planning/journalling, reading and collectables I have.
How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?
I need to do something on my good days as my home can feel like a prison otherwise. It is my own little personal space to do what I love and feel like I’m in touch with the world still.
What do you find the most frustrating aspect of blogging?
Being judged and having a bad experience personally which made me contemplate ending my blog. My doctor’s talked me out of it as they could see it was actively a therapy. People don’t understand that.
What is the most positive aspect about blogging?
It makes me feel like I’m connecting with people and not enclosed within 4 wall’s. I am not lonely anymore because of my blog and have some amazing friend’s now.
How much time do you spend blogging?
Not as much as I would like as I can only write for a short amount of time. I usually have an hour each morning, afternoon and night when the pains are dulled.
Have you always blogged about the same content that you blog about today?
Mostly but it has varied at times, where I will want to share some of my personal experience’s to others.
Would you encourage other people to make their own blog?
Yes, most defiantly. It’s the best place to be creative.
What is the best advice you could give to someone who is just starting their own blog?
Stay true to who you are and never let the number’s influence your blog or passion.
What type of networking do you think is better to enhance your traffic to the blog and to engage with your readers?
Joining blogger group’s and chat on Twitter if you can. Engage with others and send/copy the link to the company. However write honestly and as if your sitting with a friend in front if you.
Is blogging your profession or just a hobby?
Hobby and passion.
A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online? Do you agree?
I don’t make any money nor do I ask for any. I am passionate about my blog in a way that keeps me happy and gives me purpose, that to me is more priceless than money.
