I was little scared to open the inbox message when I read the subject line – should I have sex in front of the dog.
OK I thought, yes I do receive some odd emails due to the topics I write about.
This mother was serious.
Her and her partner are arguing constantly due to the fact that the dog sleeps in their bedroom.
She tells me that the dog can’t be put in the kitchen overnight as it has always slept in the bedroom and as this partner came after the dog, the dog isn’t getting moved.
Yet their sex life is being affected as he doesn’t feel comfortable having sex in front of the dog.
I suggested that the dog can be removed during these times, which she agreed is what she does, but her partner still isn’t happy.
She argues that the dog is asleep in its own dog bed, in the corner of the bedroom and stays there all night.
The dog does not sleep on the bed.
He doesn’t like the dog anywhere near him, during these times.
He’s not happy that the dog sleeps in the bedroom, as he thinks it’s unhygienic.
So how do other, pet owners deal with this issue?
Is having sex in front of your dog or other pet wrong?
I asked my own husband what he thought and after saying – “Jesus Emma you write about some crazy shit” he said “Yuck no way, it might jump up near us”.
I agree as our own dog Joey, an 8 month old black cocker spaniel watches my every move.
I would feel “on show” knowing his eyes were watching me.
He’s also very protective, so I fear if I was vocal, let’s say, he would become suspicious and want to know what was happening to me.
Would you care if a pet was in the room while you were having sex?
Should you have sex in front of the dog?
Let’s help this mum solve the argument – whose side are you on?
