Today we have Zoe from My Mummys World featuring in Blogger In The Spotlight, Zoe reviews a variety of products on her blog which is great because you’re able to read an honest review from another mum before you buy. She also shares her experiences as a mum to Jack aged 3 and Isla 6 months.
Can you tell our readers about yourself?
Hello, I’m Zoe, mother of two living within the Midlands.
How would you describe your blog?
My Mummys World is my little space of the internet where I basically share my children’s life. I also feature lots of reviews which are relevant to us and hopefully help others out, but I hope to bring more of our lives within the next year.
What inspired you to start your blog?
I was inspired to start writing my blog after the birth of my first child, he was growing so quickly I was forgetting everything he was learning and everything in which we were doing as a family. I decided to start writing everything down and then along came my blog. It’s since changed as much as we have as a family but it’s nice to look back on the early days.
What topics do you cover on your blog?
I mainly cover parenting, but I enjoy writing about our days out as a family
How do you want to improve yourself and your blog in the next year?
Within the next year, I’m hoping to share more of my families life, like how I initially began and hoped for the blog to be. Everything took a turn and it’s moved away from what I initially wanted. I also wish to grow my blog and have more interactive readers.
How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?
I look back on all the exciting adventures we have had, all the lovely opportunities we have had keep me going.
What do you find the most frustrating aspect of blogging?
I find it frustrating how people think you ‘work for free’ however I take most things with a pinch of salt.
What is the most positive aspect about blogging?
Definitely the opportunities and the friends in which I have made along my journey, I’ve made friends with a lovely bunch of people who I consider friends and have shared lots of my personal life with that hasn’t been published.
How much time do you spend blogging?
I’m not entirely sure on the exact amount of time spent blogging but I spend a lot of time online if that counts. I’m always around on social media, reading other blogs as well as writing my own.
Have you always blogged about the same content that you blog about today?
My blog has always stayed along the same topics as when I initially started, I hope to bring more features of our life over the next year but who knows.
Would you encourage other people to make their own blog?
I would encourage people to blog if they wish to document their home life and children etc, but don’t look at it as an easy way to get ‘freebies’ as they don’t come super easy.
What is the best advice you could give to someone who is just starting their own blog?
Blog for you, and for what you want, don’t try and be like someone else.
What type of networking do you think is better to enhance your traffic to the blog and to engage with your readers?
I’m not entirely sure on this one, I feel facebook is more personal and is probably a way I get more interaction when I put the time into it.
Is blogging your profession or just a hobby?
Blogging to me is a hobby, it’s something I started to write within my spare time and took a break from when life got on top of me and enjoy writing again now.
A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online? Do you agree?
Certainly not, I’ve been blogging for three and a half years now and for me, it’s not been a massive money maker if any. I never set out for it to make me money so this is of no concern, however, it’s certainly not easy and there are many other ‘behind the scenes’ things which go on too.
