If you need something to be grateful for check your pulse because you’re alive, your still breathing which means you have the power to change anything you want to. If your life is not how you want it to be then now is the time to make those changes. There is no such thing as the right time, the right time to make your life more fulfilled is now.
We have so much to be grateful for yet all that is forgotten in the grand scale of the negatives that overpower the good. We have no money, we live in an area we hate, we don’t have a good job, we don’t have the items that others do and then there’s the never-ending list of things we dislike about ourselves.
But what about the positives in our lives?
Our children, our family, our friends, we do have a roof over our heads and food on the table, even if it’s the supermarkets brand, we have heating and electricity and clothes upon our backs. We may not have the model body but we are breathing, we have a life and we should be grateful for that.
We underestimate the value of life. When it gone its gone. We don’t get a second chance. So we must make the life we have worth living and live it to the fullest.
Be grateful for the things you have
I have so much negativity surrounding my own life that it’s so easy to allow myself to wallow in self-pity. When the bipolar lows creep into my day and try to swallow me whole it’s easier to allow it to suck me under, the battle inside my head is exhausting. Some days I want to give up. It is during these darkest moments that I remind myself that although things may be difficult in my life I must be grateful for what I have.
I have six beautiful and most importantly healthy children, I have an amazing circle of supportive friends and have family who loves me. My life may not always be easy, but I have one. I have lost friends to death this year, I don’t think you realise that we are not going to live forever until you lose someone so suddenly. We are all doing to die some day and I don’t want to be remembered as someone who moaned about everything.
I have to make the best of the situations that happen to me. Bipolar will always remain in my life but instead of allowing it to control me, I have to learn to control it because we can make changes in our lives to make us happy.
I have so much to be grateful for and so do you.
Now it’s your turn:
1 – Tell me about something in your life that you have wished you could change
2 – Tell me about something in your life that you can be grateful for
