I was only 18 when I met my daughters dad, he was ten years older than me and I fell head over heels in love with him.
After a year I fell pregnant, he insisted we get married and I agreed.
When I was 8 months pregnant we married on 19th February 2000, that night (our wedding night) I saw what my husband really was.
We went up to our room in the hotel and as I was so tired I didn’t want to make love, he turned evil and made me make love to him.
My husband raped me
I cried all night and when I awoke I had bruises all over me, needless to say for the next 5 Years this kept happening.
Our daughter was born in March 2000 and she was beautiful.
After a few months we moved to Scotland.
The abuse carried on and I was raped on a daily basis, my husband was a great father or so I thought.
When she was 5 I was beaten and raped badly, the police couldn’t get involved as they said it was a domestic.
I went back to my parents after 3 weeks of the vicious attack and I decided to leave her with her dad as she was settled and they had a great relationship.
I had regular contact with my daughter but hated not being with her everyday.
I met a lovely man who is now my fiance.
He took me and my daughter under his wing and after a long court battle we got my daughter back.
When she was 9 she started behaving strangely, everything was about sex and she seemed older than she was.
After a long few weeks of this behaviour we sat her down and had a good talk, not expecting what was to come out of her mouth.
“Mam, my dad used to do things to me when I was in the bath, he used to do things until the white stuff came out”
Her dad abused her
I was shaking
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
It was like my whole world came crumbling down.
After three months of fighting with the police they decided not to prosecute due to lack of evidence.
She is now 13 and still struggles everyday because her dad abused her, she is loved and to this day we all still battle to get justice for what her dad did.
She is growing into a lovely woman and she is dearly loved by me and her step dad, her stepdad needs a medal for staying with us and being our rock, she adores him and she will never ever be hurt like that again.
Thanks for reading my story.
